Leonardo"s Notebook by Mattheus Mei

I have been impressed with the urgency of doing. Knowing is not enough; we must apply. Being willing is not enough; we must do.

Obama anointed heir apparent to Camelot

“We, too, want a president who appeals to the hopes of those who still believe in the American dream and those around the world who still believe in the American ideal and who can lift our spirits and make us believe again, I’ve found that candidate and I think you have, too.”

- Senator Edward Kennedy

Sunday it was Caroline Kennedy, daughter of the late John F. Kennedy, endorsing Sen. Obama for the Democratic nominee for the White House. Today it was the late president's younger brother (see CNN, NYT, Washington Post, Politico) Sen Ted Kennedy of Massachusetts along with his son.

“There was another time, when another young candidate was running for president and challenging America to cross a new frontier. He faced criticism from the preceding Democratic President, who was widely respected in the party. And John Kennedy replied, ‘The world is changing. The old ways will not do. It is time again for a new generation of leadership. ... It is time now for Barack Obama.”

That's what Senator Kenedy said today at American University, a place many are quick to not his older brother and President spoke at a few months before being assassinated. Many in the media are calling it an anointing, noting that the Senator and especially the daughter Kennedy's endorsement is quite a bit more than symbolic, some are even calling it a crowning.

As an Obama supporter it's my prayer that this crucial endorsement, this anointing as heir will indeed help Mr. Obama in the coming days as we approach Super Tuesday. Somehow I think the image below isn't to far off the mark...
