I like that phrase "ideological cannibalism," Matt. Describes very well what's going on with these groups, as members turns on member.
I suspect we'll be seeing a lot more of this. When groups with grand old pretensions suddenly collapse in on themselves and lose power, they tend to turn on their own members, in an act of final ideological cannibalism. Can't happen soon enough, for me!
