Both campaigns have been tenuous in statements about leaving their families out of the political fray, but that doesn't appear to be stopping Mrs. McCain from initiating an electoral cat fight in the periphery.
In an interview slated to air tomorrow morning on ABC's Good Morning America, Mrs. McCain sends a salvo of fire across the bow of the good ship Obama. These comments are against Michelle in an effort to continue criticism against her for remarks she made at a Wisconsin rally early on in the campaign and wage a proxy war that is now off limits to anyone else but her.
Mrs. McCain said in the interview
"I don't know why she said what she said," Mrs. McCain explains in an interview with ABC News' Kate Snow airing on "Good Morning America" Thursday. "Everyone has their own experience. I don't know why she said what she said, all I know is that I have always been proud of my country."
Asked by Snow if she would feel safe with Obama as president, McCain replied, "I would feel safe with my husband as president . . .I think Barack Obama is a fine man and Michelle Obama is a fine woman (but) this is about who would be better and I think my husband would be better."
I'm not sure if Mrs. Obama will respond in kind to Mrs. McCain's attacks, but one thing is for sure, Cindy has never seen Bringing Down the House otherwise she would have learned the lesson of Missi Pyle who chose to spar with Queen Latifah:
