I have been impressed with the urgency of doing. Knowing is not enough; we must apply. Being willing is not enough; we must do.

Black Friday to start with more than a bang

Black Friday, the traditional start to the Christmas Shopping Season, normally starts off with a bang of early morning shopping - but this year the weekend may pack a little extra heat thanks to the South Carolina General Assembly.

The House voted to approve legislation naming the Friday and Saturday immediately following Thanksgiving day are declared "Second Amendment Weekend" and according to an AP article:

Under a change made in the House, the measure also creates 48 tax-free hours dubbed Second Amendment Weekend. On the Friday and Saturday after each Thanksgiving, handguns, rifles and shotguns would be sold tax-free.

Because that's what we need in the hands of angry and frustrated shoppers who have been waiting mindlessly for hours on end in the twilight cold to obtain the latest toy for their snot-nosed rugrats. I can see it now, instead of wrestling for the last Tickle-Me-Barney, or 32" HD Plasma Flat Screen a disgruntled shopper only has to brandish the gun they just bought with a tax discount from the hunting section at Wal-Mart and hope that they aim quick and aim true.

The Bill has to go back to the Senate for one more round of voting before Gov Sanford approves the measure. Stores are already stocking up on signs saying "Shop at your own Risk"
