Our friend SCBlueDog over at L'Espere has an interesting post up about the economic downturn, the Labor movement, and the gravitational pull that regional economic interests will have on Southern Folks of different political stripes.
Let's just say certain ideological foci potentially could become blurred or put in the back seat. The downside is it'll probably create a vacuum where iconoclasts like Jim DeMint emerge as regional power brokers.
