Columbia's protest against California's Proposition 8 exceeded organizer's expectations Saturday. A crowd of over 150 participated at Main and Gervais on the State House Grounds. Carrying signs, banners and flags the group stood for an hour receiving many cheers from passers by honking their horns with very few jeers.
The group in Columbia wasmade up of more than LGBT individuals and families, many of the demonstrators were straight allies standing with the gay community in solidarity and support of their civil rights.
The protest was a part of a nationwide grass roots movement to demonstrate against the passing of Proposition 8 in California which took the right to marry away from Gay Couples.

Damn dude, if I'd known you were going to take a pic of me in all my Gamecock-clad glory I would've at least turned my good side to the camera.
sorry Micah -- I thought that was you, but I'm a shy individual beyond the psuedonym. Otherwise I would have said - "Hey - Pose for my picture" had I known any better :) Glad you came out to support us, and you have the coolest car horn!!! :) Hope to be more forward soon!
