Leonardo"s Notebook by Mattheus Mei

I have been impressed with the urgency of doing. Knowing is not enough; we must apply. Being willing is not enough; we must do.

QOTD: Not caring

It has all been said. Which is why I find I- who'd ordinarily be all over a trailer-trash Christianista who takes a retarded infant and turns it into a punch line, and makes a shotgun wedding into proof of moral and hermeneutical superiority, and who needed five colleges and six years to get one degree- just don't care.

Just as Uncle Grumpy, whose staff read "nearly all" of the Wikipedia article about Mrs. Palin, doesn't care. He's got his tormentors on the religious right whipped into their own semipubliconanistic frenzy, and thinks he can win over a huge and undiagnosed cohort of lunatic prochoice women to his cause.

Mrs. Palin's story will run its course, and I suspect, as Judi Dench said at the end of Shakespeare in Love, it will end with tears, and a journey.

The one certainty about religious enthusiasts in politics is that they always overplay their hand.

Here's hoping he's right....
