from the Christianity & Islam even at the University. I took the Civic's Literacy test on Brad Warthen's Blog (see local editor in blogroll) and scored 54 out of 60 correctly — 90.00 %. I think that's a job well done considering the questions I missed (4 of 6) had to do with economic principals (which I admit, in my undergraduate career economics was not my subject). I'm pleased to say that I only missed one question related to American History, and on related to Political Philosophy. I'm going to challenge everyone to take the quiz

I'm glad the test showed that you didn't have brakes on when learning civics, but perhaps you did mean a brief "break" :)
I think you'll find the title intentional - to put the brakes on life means to slow down - so I was intimating that I was just slowing down, not stopping :)
You win. I missed only one more question than you. Thus a grand 88.3%.
Shame on me.
Just for the record. This test for US Citizenship is a lot easier.
