Leonardo"s Notebook by Mattheus Mei

I have been impressed with the urgency of doing. Knowing is not enough; we must apply. Being willing is not enough; we must do.

Fashionista, Runaway Runway: A Recycled Fashion Show

[pic from photobucket]

I had the utter joy of joining my friend Jen Ray last night as she photographed the Columbia Design League's "Runaway Runway." It was an absolute blast and its always amazing to see local talent at work. And no I didn't see anyone dressed to the 9's like this model, but I did see so many varied and creative outfits all made from (and say it with a french accent!) garbage.

Columbia in being able to host such an event for the past 4 years is really showing that as a city she has potential to really shine and be a cultural city if not a city of haute couture.

At least in this show no one fell through the floor as someone did at a show recently in Charleston.

So I want to give a 'shout out' to the Design League and everyone that went in to putting on such a great show... I suppose even the Lady Chablis as she helped MC the evenings festivities and managed not to well - cause too much of a scene.

WLTX has a blurb about it and the pic is from them.
